Day 12: The Final Drive!

Mike and Bone rose early again grabbing a quick bite and coffee at the Hotel so they could get on the road!

 

Cruising out of Omaha into Iowa!

Soon, Mike and Bone passed over the Missouri River an into Council Bluffs Iowa! This morning, they were on a mission,,,,, HOME!!!

 

Hightailing it through Hilly Iowa!

Through the morning they zipped through the bucolic hills of Iowa and raced to be on the right side of the mother of all rivers!

 

Passing over the Mighty Mississippi!

The crossed over the Mississippi in early afternoon, and started the loooong trek through the flat and wintery Illinois that they has passed through 12 days ago!

 

Trip, Postscript!

The Boys stopped only for petrol on the way home, they bought what ever was at a gas station for provisions in the effort to get home before dark. 

Soon, they were on the familiar I-94 cruisin' outta Illinois, inta Indiana, and around and up the big bend into the Great Lake State of Michigan! Mike and Bone got back to GR at dusk, and Bone headed for his 2 drive to Berserkley. 

In 12 days, Mike and Bone covered almost 6,000 miles, 13 states and a trail of tears, belches, and short supply of chicken fried steak!
